Emphasizing particles

Emphasizing particles are small words which don't have any actual meaning, but they are just used to emphasizise and stress the meaning of other word. Some of these aren't even real words and cannot exist alone but only attached to another word. You never declinate or conjugate these words, so there's only one form of then.

Clitic particles

Clitic particles are a group of particles behave like suffixes. They are ment to emphasize the word they are attached to.

-kin ~ too, even

Minäkin olin siellä.
I was there too.
Sinäkin Brutus!
Et tu, Brute!

-han ~ maybe

Minähän sanoin!
I told you already!

-pa ~ really

Oletpa sinä jo iso poika!
Well aren't you already a big boy!

-kaan ~ not even

Sinäkään et ole aina oikeassa.
Even you are not always right.

Independent particles

toki ~ sure(ly)

Näin on toki parempi.
This is surely better.

jopa ~ even

Jopa lapsi osaa tehdä sen.
Even a child can do it.

liian ~ too (much)

Kenkäni ovat liian pienet.
My shoes are too small.

ihan ~ quite, very

Tapaaminen meni ihan hyvin.
The meeting went quite well.
